The company was incorporated in 1891, and Odell retired from the business in 1892 but his son replaced him, Thompson died in 1903 and the company was forced into liquidation in 1905.
It is often difficult to find banjos of this vintage that are playable and do not need costly restoration and repairs.
Luckily, someone already did the necessary work on this historic instrument. Missing hooks and nuts were replaced, an new 11" Renaissance head was mounted, and modern planetary tuners were added.
At one point a "poor mans" neck reset was done to correct the neck angle.
If you are looking for a playable turn of the century banjo with tons of mojo then look no further!!
