Spring is finally coming to Acoustic Corner, and we are so excited to showcase a few of the wonderful used & vintage instruments that came through our doors this month. If any of these great pieces catch your eye, feel free to come by the showroom at 105 F Montreat Road in Black Mountain, NC to give them a shot!

Used & Vintage Guitars

This 2013 Martin DCPA1 Plus mixes classic Martin looks and playability with quality acoustic-electric conveniences. We love the clarity of the onboard Fishman F1 Aura pickup, and the added functionality with a tuner, compressor, eq and more makes it that much sweeter.

The solid sitka spruce top & Indian rosewood sides provide a rich, warm sound with plenty of projection. The satin neck & cutaway offers an easy to play guitar with access to the whole fretboard!

We love to see Tom Warner guitars come into the shop. Resonator guitars tend to be very bare-bones for beginners or high-end professional-grade, with very few options in between. This squareneck resonator guitar bridges that gap!

This guitar is bright and offers incredible clarity. It's in great shape and comes with a gig bag - a perfect step-up guitar for a Dobro player.

This 2007 Bourgeois Vintage D Adirondack is one of the best flatpicking guitars we have had in the shop in a long time. The tight, punchy bass and high end sparkle make for an incredible combination - adages like "canon" and "banjo killer" have been passed around the shop after hearing this guitar.

This dreadnought is nearly pristine for a 17 year old guitar - very minor play and fret wear!

This guitar has an upgraded Adirondack spruce top and is gig-ready with a K&K pure mini pickup - plus the original case is included!

We're excited to share a guitar from 2017 that has recently entered the shop: a Taylor 812ce 12-fret DLX!

This guitar with original case has been kept in incredible condition. The Indian rosewood sides & Sitka spruce top combined with a compact body keeps notes very articulate. This instrument also features an Expression System 2 pickup.

We recommend this guitar for any fingerstyle player looking for a gig-ready guitar!

Last but certainly not least on our list of "new-to-us" vintage guitars in the shop is a 1967 Gibson C-0 Classical. Gibsons are not usually the first brand you think of for classical guitars, but from 1962-1970 the C-0 line was the base model for a small lineup of classical instruments.

While this line never made it in with true classical players, it developed some popularity with singer-songwriters. We recommend this guitar for fingerstyle folk, Bossa Nova, or used with a pick for some Willie Nelson vibes. A great deal on a vintage Gibson!

Other Used & Vintage Instruments

Here's a truly one-of-a-kind vintage instrument that we cannot stop picking: a Bill Rickard/Larry Brown open-back banjo

The 11" maple pot was made by Bill Rickard and features what we think is a Little Wonder tone ring. The neck is constructed of mahogany and was crafted by local Asheville luthier Larry Brown. The V-shaped is very comfortable to play & has a brass plate that extends to the 7th fret.

We love getting in unique instruments, and this banjo is seriously one-of-a-kind. It comes paired with an Access Stage One gig bag.

Speaking of unique instruments, we were thrilled to see this circa 1900 Caspar de Salo violin come in. This turn of the century German workshop violin is lightweight and highly responsive.

This violin is currently set up with D'Addario Helicore strings and a Wittner tailpiece. It also comes with a vintage hardshell case.

This +100 year old violin has no major cracks or repairs - we don't expect to hold on to this for long!

If any of these instruments catch your eye you can try them out in our Black Mountain showroom, open Tuesday-Saturday from 10-6pm (5pm on Saturdays). You can view our complete collection of used and vintage instruments if you're looking for guitars, banjos, violins, and more.
