Though there is no label or country of origin, it's quite clear that this is most likely a German workshop made Stainer copy that is at least a hundred years old.

This fine instrument is in outstanding condition, with no evidence of any major repairs or cracks.

We had this violin set up by our friend and fellow Black Mountain luthier, Kate Rickenbacker. Kate carved a new bridge, soundpost, planed the fingerboard, and did the final setup with Prim strings.

This particular instrument would be popular with the fiddle crowd, as it very responsive with a very "reed" like voicing common of Stainer copies.

Case included.
