We had a recent run of all mahogany guitars in the store lately, and this 2010 001Mh from Collings might just be the best one. Though a fourteen year old guitar, this instrument looks like it was finished yesterday, with almost no play wear and not even a scuff on the case! Even though this came from a collector who plays regularly and owns a few other Collings guitars, this guitar has been kept in immaculate condition.
Serial number 17899 is unbelievably light, warm, and resonant, yet incredibly articulate for an all mahogany guitar, making it perfect for fingerstyle blues or a singer/songwriter. The 00-sized body makes this guitar extremely comfortable to play with sacrificing volume and tone. Outstanding instrument.

We offer the 00 in its original, 12-fret configuration, a guitar shape that was first designed around the time of the Civil War. Its dimensions are similar to a typical classical guitar, with a slotted headstock and small pyramid bridge. The comfortable size and timeless appearance of the Collings 00 is matched by the ease of playing a wide neck and shorter string scale affords. The tone is typically balanced and precise, and we've seen it adopted for a wide range of playing styles from simple vocal accompaniment to ragtime solos.
