1938 Recording King Carson J Robinson Model-K
Introduced in the fall of 1933 for country songwriter Carson Robinson, this Gibson made Recording King shares the same body as the Kalamazoo KG11, with a spruce top and mahogany back and sides.
In 1938 it was renamed the Model K, with the headstock coming to point along with a stenciled crown, Recording Kings, and Carson J. Robinson signature.
This model was discontinued by the fall of 1939.
This particular one is in fantastic condition, with the only non-original part being the bridge. The non-Gibson style bridge was used to accommodate the internally mounted JDL bridge doctor, used to help control bowing of the top. The original Brazilian rosewood bridge is included in the case.
Outstanding ladder-braced instrument with great old time and finger style blues tones . . . . tons of vintage mojo!!
Chipboard style case included.
