1929 Gibson L3
Let's all just admit that these small-body Gibson L's are beautiful guitars. This latter-era version incorporates some improvements compared to the early-'20s instruments by way of a fast, comfortable neck (supported by a truss rod) and lighter carving in the top and braces. As such, it's easier to play and punches a little more. It also has a gorgeous finish -- a red-brown sunburst similar to the older versions of the guitar but with a little more "pop" and contrast to the colors.
This 1929 Gibson L3, serial number 87693, is in unbelievable shape for an almost one hundred year old guitar. From what we can tell it is all original, including the case. With no major repairs or cracks, the only repair we see done is the first five frets have been replaced with a modern fret size.
Absolutely beautiful and historic instrument.
