It's been rare that we have had two 7/8th's size violins in the store, and we are happy to share this fine insrument signed by Bronwyn Keith-Hynes and Jason Carter.

The label inside reads, “Copy of Antonius Stradivarius – Made in Germany,” making it a standard trade label. Being that is says "Made in Germany", this means it was imported after the McKinley tariff act of 1923 that stated all instruments imported must include the country of origin in English. The stamp on the back reads, “student,” which was a grade designation used by exporters and distributors at the time. It does NOT mean modern student quality. Standards, construction and material at the time this was made for student instruments were high. The stamp simply indicates this was the entry-to-mid tier model in a workshop’s catalog.

This violin has a Wittner tailpiece, a boxwood chinrest and new Dominant strings. The violin was professionally setup and is in excellent, stable, playable condition. It has great volume and projection and is responsive and forgiving under the bow.

Keith-Hynes is a Grammy-winning bluegrass fiddler and vocalist who has recorded and toured with Dailey & Vincent, Sierra Hull, Sarah Jarosz, the Milk Carton Kids, Tim O'Brien and Tony Trischka.

Carter is a 3-time Grammy winner and 5-time IBMA Fiddle Player of the Year bluegrass musician. He is best known for his work with the iconic bluegrass bands, Del McCoury Band and the Travelin' McCourys.
Vintage-style hard case included.
