It’s rare for us to have two 7/8-size violins in the shop at once, and we’re pleased to offer this fine instrument signed by Grammy Award–winning artists Bronwyn Keith-Hynes and Jason Carter, the previous owners of this fiddle.

The interior label reads “Copy of Antonius Stradivarius – Made in Germany,” a standard trade designation. The inclusion of “Made in Germany” indicates it was produced for export after the McKinley Tariff Act, which required imported goods to list their country of origin in English. A “student” stamp appears on the back, reflecting a historical grade used by exporters and distributors; it does not correspond to modern notions of student quality. In fact, construction standards and materials from this period were often higher than today’s baseline. The stamp simply identifies the instrument as an entry- to mid-tier model within a workshop’s catalog.

This violin is fitted with a Wittner tailpiece and new Dominant strings. It has been professionally set up and is in excellent, stable, and fully playable condition.
