2002 Gibson F-9

This 2002 Gibson F-9 is from the revered "Derrington Era" under Charlie Derrington. Featuring a sitka spruce top, figured maple back and sides, a flat unbound ebony fretboard, and a satin vintage brown finish. 

This no nonsense mandolin delivers loud, dry, and woody tones with exceptional volume, powerful projection, and a pronounced bluegrass "chop".

Serial number 20205020 puts this at 2002 (first year of production) and has typical play wear for an over twenty year old instrument. The very thin finish shows it share of minor dings and pick scrapes, but there is zero evidence of and major repairs or breaks. Plenty of fret life left. All original, including the case, except for a replaced (yet vintage!) tailpiece cover.
