1981 Gallagher 72 Special
$4,799.00
The Gallagher name is synonymous with the playing of North Carolina legend Doc Watson, and upon hearing this great sounding dreadnought, it is quite obvious why Doc chose to play a Gallagher.
Serial number 1506 is in great condition for its age with typical play wear for an over 40- year old instrument. No major cracks or breaks, but there is evidence of a bridge reglue and neck reset.
We love the pick guard shape and the beautiful abalone purfling, as well as its incredibly comfortable soft-V neck profile.
This dreadnought sounds exactly how a bluegrass guitar should; clean, tight bass with crystalline trebles and ample headroom.
