1931 Gibson Mastertone MB-3

While we have seen many TB conversions, this fine instrument started as a Style-3 MB or mandolin banjo. This beautiful conversion was done by Dave Nichols, who before his passing in January of 2025 was one of the top inlay artists/luthiers in North America..he has done the inlays on some of the most intricate Martin designs, and did work for Del McCoury, David Grisman, Merle Haggard, and Johnny Cash.

This fine instrument has had a recent refret by local luthier Ken Jones, and has been in the possession of a local player since the late 1980's.
