1951 Gretsch Synchromatic 125F Model 6021

Right after World War II, Gretsch bounced back into business with a catalog that featured a trio of flat-tops, including this one, the 17"-wide Jumbo Synchromatic 125F Model 6021.

The Synchromatic flat-top was the precursor to both the Rancher and Town and Country. It sports a spruce top and arched maple back and sides.

This is the first one of these I've seen in the store ever, and would be a real head turner at any jam or gig. The sound is very unique, kind of a cross between a flat top and arch top. The neck is also very unique, but very comfortable "comma" like shape, where it's thicker on the bass side but tapers on the treble side.

Overall it's in great shape for it's age. There is a back crack visible inside the guitar, however this does not come through all the way to it's back side. The inlay at the third fret looks like it has been out, but has been glued back in. The next owner of this guitar might want to do a neck reset, but it is priced accordingly, and completely playable.

A very cool and unique piece!!
